Little Brown Bats are native here in Washington. They are one of the few animals we deal with that are a federally protected species. We do not trap and remove bats. Due to their nature, taking them far away and releasing them will only allow them to come back, as they are excellent at finding their way home. We focus on repair work to exclude them out of the area and then provide clean up services to remove the feces and sanitize the area. Bats are a species that hibernates in the winters and sometimes choose your attic as that siesta spot! They are not animals that chew on your house or rip out your insulation, but they can amass large quantities of guano which can be host to many types of bacteria and parasites. It can also reduce the effectiveness of your insulation, making your heating or cooling bills go up. Bats are also the number one carrier of rabies in Washington State so they should be handled with extreme care.
Bats are federally protected animals and causing them harm, or preventing them from being able to care for their babies is a crime. The professionals at Wildlife Wizards have years of experience and training to know when it is appropriate to exclude them, how to do it effectively, and make sure your home is protected in the future. Don't get yourself hurt trying to handle these guys on your own, and let us handle the dirty work for you!
