MOUNTAIN BEAVERS

Mountain beavers are one of those critters you probably don't know about unless you've dealt with them. They cannot survive above ground for long, due to the "prehistoric" internal nervous system they are built with. They tunnel in the ground, usually on a hillside or bluff area, and their tunnel system can be pretty expansive. While they are herbivores and do not bite or attack unprovoked, they can do some serious damage to the structural integrity of hillsides and they can decimate your foliage including garden plants and natural vegetation. They can also leave holes (between 6" and 8") all over your property where they come in and out of their tunnel system. Trapping and removal is the humane solution to a mountain beaver infestation.
